The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course was developed with a foundation from the Essentials of Fundraising Program and the First Course and is composed of seven modules that have been designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day.
The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques.
This in-person program will provide an overview of skills, techniques and program components for individuals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience.

Meet your instructor for 2018:
Ed Sluga, CFRE
Ed Sluga, PGgrowth’s President, is one of Canada’s most experienced Planned Giving professionals and has had extensive experience operating all types of fundraising programs for local, regional and national not-for-profit organizations. For over 20 years, he has helped hundreds of organizations from across the country develop and benefit from long-term, sustainable and proactive fundraising programs. Ed has held the positions of Vice-President, Major and Planned Gifts for the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, National Director of Planned Giving and Philanthropy Services for the CNIB and Head of Advancement for St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School as well as consulting in all areas of fund development and donor engagement. Ed has always focused on developing organizational structures and operations so that they are positioned to experience success for the long-term with the chief motivation in helping organizations achieve the goals of their mission within their communities.
Ed is the co-author of Worthy and Prepared along with Peter Barrow, was a contributor to the Vigilant Fundraiser and has a podcast – The PGgrowth Planned Giving Podcast – on all things related to Planned Giving that can be found on iTunes, Google Play and on the PGgrowth website at www.pggrowth.com
