DESCRIPTION

Registration is available at the Brighton YMCA (170 Main Street) (613) 475-2887 or at the event beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Brighton YMCA Applefest Run will start and finish at East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) in Brighton, Ontario. Whether this 5k is your first, or you are a racing veteran, the Applefest Run is both challenging and fun. The 5K course has something for everyone, with a bit of road, a bit of off-road, some uphill, some downhill, some great views, and a loop through Dunnett’s Orchard! This event is also a part of Brighton’s Applefest Weekend Celebration. 5km run will begin at 10:00 am.

The 1K Kids Fun Run is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes on the ENSS track. It is not a timed race and each child will receive a participation ribbon. 1 km run will start at 9:30 am.

Indoor Facilities:
This event will start and finish at East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS), where we will have access to some indoor facilities for registration, race kit pick up, awards, refreshments, washrooms and change rooms.

Parking:
There is plenty of parking available on-site and nearby, however, parking may be limited due to other Applefest events.

Accessibility:
The 5K race course is partly on roads, partly off-road, and is quite challenging with the uphill/downhill sections through the orchard. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the course, the 5K event is not wheelchair accessible. However, we can make accommodations if needed. Please contact us prior to the event to discuss options.

Safety:
For your safety, and the safety of others, please no strollers, or headphones in the 5K event. Strollers are welcome in the Kids 1K Fun Run event.
