Dance for Prader-Willi Syndrome
Get your dancing shoes on! The Ontario Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (OPWSA) invites you to participate in our 2017 Dance for Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) dance-a-thon. This year we will be hosting our dance-a-thon at our Fall Family and Caregiver Conference at Saturday, October 14th at 3:00pm.
Support OPWSA and our programs by collecting sponsors or sponsor another individual who will be participating in the dance-a-thon. Sponsorships can be collected using our dance-a-thon pledge form to be collected at our conference, or by using our online fundraising campaign system.
Help us dance towards our goal of raising $15,000. OPWSA is a charity supported entirely by a community of donors and sponsors. With your help we can make a real difference in the lives of our families with PWS! Your funds go directly to helping OPWSA:
Provide crisis counseling through our Executive Director and amazing network of families
Advocate on behalf of our PWS community
Provide free fridge locks to our members
Ensure that Ontario families have access to a PWS Clinic and educational resources
Host family gatherings throughout the province to provide families and caregivers an opportunity to connect and share experiences with PWS
Organize a week of camp for teenagers and adults with PWS at Shadow Lake Centre with a portion of the fees subsidized for each camper
Hold a Family Fun Day for younger families with PWS
Loan trikes to young children with PWS through our First Trike Program
Do you know someone who would like to dance for Prader-Willi Syndrome? We’re ready to dance with you! Please join the dance by collecting sponsors using the dance-a-thon pledge form or setting up your own personal fundraising page in preparation for the dance-a-thon. If you can’t be at the dance-a-thon in person, you can dance virtually by sharing a video of yourself dancing. Create and share your personal fundraising page in minutes! It’s simple to do. To start fundraising today, click on join as an individual or create a team, or share your video on OPWSA’s Facebook and Twitter pages and donate directly to OPWSA’s campaign page.
Each individual participating in our dance-a-thon that raises a minimum of $300 will be entered into a draw to win a $100 Indigo gift card. We will be drawing two winners. One winner will be chosen from the individuals participating in our dance in person on Saturday, October 14th, and one winner will be chosen from individuals participating in our online Dance for PWS campaign.
