Groundstory Advisory 1.3 (West Toronto)
Posted 3 years ago by Toronto Charities / 111 views
Are you interested in identifying solutions to the lack of affordable shelter and spaces of work for vulnerable groups in Toronto? Do you have stories to share about your relationship with rapidly changing neighbourhoods?
Come to the third semi-monthly advisory convening for in West Toronto for Groundstory, a cross-sectoral effort to address the effects of gentrification and growing income precarity on arts and culture workers and other low-income groups. Share your story! Help identify a plan to build more creative, inclusive, affordable cities, and #DegentrifyON.
The purpose of these semi-monthly sessions is to identify a common agenda and a theory of change to direct Groundstory’s desired 10-year mandate to uproot the adverse effects of gentrification on arts and culture workers and other low-income communities across the Greater Toronto to Hamilton Area. This includes interventions to address increasing income precarity, the lack of affordable shelter, and the loss of relevant, accessible spaces of work for diverse communities.

Stay tuned for additional sessions throughout the summer and fall of 2018 including Hamilton, East Toronto-Scarborough, West Toronto-Etobicoke, and North York-York Region.
The second session in Toronto takes place at the Parkdale Branch of the Toronto Public Library on July 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Mark your calendars!
