Scouting for Events and Actions

Posted 3 years ago by Toronto Charities / 76 views

Whether you are planning a march, sit-down, picket, meeting disruption, a banner drop or a blockade, it is often important to check out the location in advance. Scouting the location well can help you plan an action that is safe, effective, and less likely to be foiled. This workshop will introduce you to the basics of scouting for situations where you are trying to go unnoticed to maintain an element of surprise.

Date: Saturday November 24

Time: 11-4 PM

Location: The Greenpeace Mobilization Hub, 33 Cecil St. Toronto

Accessibility: This is a wheelchair accessible location. Subway tokens available to attendees by request. There will be an excerise where we’ll ask you to go outside and do some real-life scouting practices, so please dress for the weather.

Trainer: Mark Calzavara has scouted and coordinated direct actions for the last twenty years. He is currently the Ontario-Quebec organizer for the Council of Canadians.
