The 2nd Annual Burpee Project in support of youth mental health

Posted 3 years ago by Toronto Charities / 139 views

Burpees can be a little intimidating – but not when you’re surrounded by a team of people, cheering you on to reach a goal of doing 25,000 burpees collectively!!!

The 2nd Annual Burpee Project is an event intended to make burpees fun and to bring people of all ages and fitness levels together to raise awareness for youth mental health in support of The Maddie Project (

Did you know that burpees are one of the BEST total body exercises that burn a ton of calories and work a large number of muscles in the body. So why do Burpees get such a bad rap? Because they are challenging. We created the Burpee Project to wipe out the stigma that BURPEES ARE HARD.

The Burpee Project will show people of all fitness levels and all age groups that Burpees are POSSIBLE and that Burpees aren’t so bad after all. With a little encouragement and a great TEAM of people to support YOU and this fantastic cause – The Maddie Project. We encourage people to challenge themselves to do a minimum of 250 burpees. It will probably take the average person about 20-30 minutes to complete 100 burpees.

We don’t want to do burpees alone…so let’s do it together to break down the stigma of mental health and help youth struggling with depression and other mental health concerns.

Join us for an afternoon of fitness on Saturday, November 17th from 2pm to 5pm at RedLeaf Fitness to engage in fitness, food and fun all while raising awareness and funds for youth mental health.

Tickets are $40 for adults, $30 for youth or $250 for groups of 10.

If you can’t attend please consider making a donation to support The Maddie Project in their mission to raise awareness by sparking conversations about youth depression and mental health concerns as well as to help provide uninhibited access to support for youth and their families. You can donate here and receive a tax receipt
