540 Golden Hawks provides youth aged 12 to 18 in Oakville and the GTA with training in aviation, leadership, and military discipline through the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program. Members learn to fly, study aerospace science, and develop skills in navigation, survival, and emergency procedures. The squadron operates training flights, ground school instruction, and expeditions that build confidence and prepare cadets for careers in aviation and the armed forces. Sponsorship from the committee ensures cadets have access to aircraft, instructors, and equipment needed for hands-on experience. Participants gain discipline, physical fitness, and mentorship from experienced pilots and officers who guide them through progressive levels of achievement.
