Beekeeping for Veterans

Beekeeping for Veterans teaches military veterans in the greater Toronto area how to establish and manage their own beehives as a path toward employment, community connection, and mental health improvement. The organization provides training in beekeeping techniques, business planning, and hive management while offering ongoing mentorship and access to equipment and supplies. Many veterans experience isolation and struggle with the transition to civilian life, and this hands-on program creates structure, purpose, and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with other veterans. Participants can generate income through honey sales, pollination services, and value-added products, while also contributing to local food security and environmental health in Thornhill and surrounding communities.
