BUDDHIST DHARMALAKSANA SOCIETY OF ONTARIO

The Buddhist Dharmalaksana Society of Ontario operates an environmental education and conservation program rooted in Buddhist principles of interconnectedness and respect for all living things. Based in Newmarket, the organization works across the GTA to promote sustainable practices through workshops, community gardens, and habitat restoration projects. The society teaches participants about ecological stewardship while integrating Buddhist philosophy, helping people understand how their daily choices affect the natural world. The group engages volunteers in tree planting, water quality monitoring, and native plant propagation efforts. By connecting spiritual practice with environmental action, the Buddhist Dharmalaksana Society of Ontario builds awareness about climate change and biodiversity loss while offering practical ways for individuals to reduce their ecological footprint and contribute to a healthier region.
