CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY - SOCIÉTÉ CANADIENNE DU CANCER
The Canadian Cancer Society's Arts and Culture program uses creative expression as a tool for cancer patients, survivors, and their families to process their experiences and build community. Through workshops, exhibitions, and performances across Toronto and the GTA, the organization provides access to visual arts, music, writing, and theater that help people cope with cancer's physical and emotional impacts. Participants engage with professional artists and peer facilitators in spaces designed to foster connection and reflection. The program recognizes that artistic engagement can reduce anxiety, improve mental health, and create meaningful moments during and after treatment. By integrating arts into cancer care and support, the Society offers pathways to healing that complement medical treatment and help people reclaim joy and identity beyond their diagnosis.
