The Centre for Indigenous Theatre produces theatrical works created by and for Indigenous artists and audiences. Based in Toronto, the organization develops new plays, trains Indigenous performers and playwrights, and presents productions that reflect Indigenous stories, perspectives, and experiences. The theatre maintains a dedicated focus on creating employment opportunities for Indigenous artists while building audiences within Indigenous communities across the GTA. By prioritizing Indigenous voices in all aspects of production and artistic direction, the Centre works to increase the visibility and representation of Indigenous theatre in Canada's cultural landscape.
