The Centre for Local Research into Public Space

The Centre for Local Research into Public Space conducts research and advocacy work focused on how public spaces shape urban life and community wellbeing in Toronto and beyond. The organization studies parks, streets, plazas, and other shared environments to understand their role in public health, social connection, and equitable access. Through community-engaged research projects, the Centre works with residents and local groups to document how public spaces are used, what barriers exist, and how design and policy decisions affect different populations.
