Community Association for Riders with Disabilities
The Community Association for Riders with Disabilities offers equestrian programs designed for people with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. Through therapeutic horseback riding lessons and horse-related activities, the organization helps participants build confidence, improve motor skills, and develop social connections in a supportive environment. Based in North York, the association works with trained instructors and volunteers to adapt riding instruction for each individual's abilities and goals. The programs serve children and adults across the Greater Toronto Area, providing access to horse therapy that might otherwise be unavailable to people with disabilities. Participants engage with horses through grooming, ground work, and riding, gaining both physical benefits and emotional fulfillment from the human-animal bond.
