Community History Project

The Community History Project preserves and shares the stories, memories, and cultural heritage of Toronto's neighbourhoods through oral history collection, archival documentation, and public exhibitions. The organization works with residents, community groups, and local institutions to record and celebrate the experiences of people whose histories are often overlooked in mainstream accounts. Their programmes include interviews with longtime residents, digitization of community documents and photographs, and exhibitions that bring neighbourhood histories to life for current and future generations. By creating accessible archives and hosting community events, the Project strengthens cultural understanding and connection across Toronto while ensuring that diverse voices shape how the city's past is remembered and told.
