DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID THEATRE
DNA Theatre creates and produces original theatrical works that explore identity, belonging, and social justice through performance. Based in Toronto, the organization develops plays written by and featuring artists from equity-seeking communities, including racialized performers, LGBTQ2S+ artists, and people with lived experience of marginalization. The company stages productions at venues across the city and offers workshops, dramaturgy services, and mentorship to emerging playwrights and theatre makers. DNA Theatre's work centers storytelling as a tool for building empathy and understanding across different communities, while creating meaningful employment and creative opportunities for artists who are often underrepresented in mainstream theatre.
