DURHAM DOWN'S SYNDROME ASSOCIATION

The Durham Down's Syndrome Association creates and delivers arts and cultural programs for people with Down syndrome across the Oshawa region and surrounding areas. Through visual arts, music, drama, and other creative activities, the organization provides individuals with intellectual disabilities opportunities to express themselves, build confidence, and participate fully in cultural life. Programs are designed to be accessible and inclusive, recognizing that artistic engagement benefits both personal development and social connection. The association works with local artists, venues, and community partners to ensure people with Down syndrome can access cultural experiences that might otherwise be unavailable to them. By centering the voices and talents of participants, Durham Down's Syndrome Association demonstrates how arts can be a powerful tool for inclusion and belonging.
