DURHAM EAST 4-H COUNCIL
Durham East 4-H Council provides youth development programs across Durham Region, focusing on agriculture, leadership, and life skills for young people aged 5-21. Members participate in hands-on projects ranging from animal husbandry and crop production to public speaking and community service. The organization runs local clubs where youth learn responsibility, teamwork, and practical skills through activities like showing livestock at county fairs, competing in provincial competitions, and completing individual achievement projects. 4-H builds confidence in rural and suburban youth by connecting them with mentors, peers, and opportunities to explore careers in agriculture and other fields. Based in Bowmanville, the council supports dozens of clubs throughout the region, helping generations of young people develop into engaged citizens and leaders.
