FRIENDS OF SECOND MARSH

Friends of Second Marsh works to preserve and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of Second Marsh in Oshawa through community engagement and environmental stewardship. The organization manages the marsh as an ecological resource while fostering public appreciation for its biodiversity, historical significance, and recreational value. Through guided walks, educational programs, and volunteer conservation efforts, Friends of Second Marsh connects residents of the Greater Toronto Area with this important wetland ecosystem. The group also advocates for the protection of the marsh from development and works with local partners to maintain trails, restore habitat, and document the species that depend on this landscape. By combining environmental conservation with cultural preservation, the organization ensures that Second Marsh remains accessible to the public and protected for future generations.
