FRIENDS OF THE HEALING FOREST

Friends of the Healing Forest operates a therapeutic nature program in North York that uses outdoor activities and forest environments to support the mental and physical health of people living with chronic illness, disability, and mental health challenges. The organization runs guided forest walks, gardening programs, and nature-based workshops that provide participants with opportunities to reconnect with the natural world while building community with others. All programs are free and accessible, with transportation assistance available for those who need it. By bringing people outdoors and fostering meaningful connections in green spaces, Friends of the Healing Forest addresses the isolation that often accompanies illness while promoting wellbeing through nature-based healing. The organization also advocates for equitable access to natural areas across the Greater Toronto Area.
