Gakino'amaage: Teach For Canada / Enseigner Pour le Canada

Gakino'amaage: Teach For Canada recruits, trains, and supports young leaders to teach in under-resourced schools across Canada, including in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. The organization places high-performing university graduates and professionals in classrooms where they work as full-time teachers for a two-year commitment, focusing on schools serving low-income communities and Indigenous populations. Through intensive training, ongoing mentorship, and a network of alumni educators, the program addresses teacher shortages in under-served regions while cultivating leaders committed to educational equity. Fellows gain practical teaching experience and develop skills for long-term impact, whether they continue in education or move into other sectors where they apply their learnings to advance social change.
