THE GILES SCHOOL

The Giles School provides academic and vocational training to adults with intellectual disabilities across Toronto and the GTA. Through classroom instruction, hands-on skills development, and work experience placements, the school prepares participants for employment and greater independence. The program combines literacy and numeracy with practical training in areas like food service, custodial work, and retail, alongside life skills instruction covering budgeting, transportation, and social interaction. Instructors work with each person to build confidence and develop marketable abilities. The Giles School also connects graduates with employers who value their work ethic and reliability, creating pathways to paid employment that increase both income and social participation for adults who face barriers in the traditional job market.
