Green Cities Foundation

Green Cities Foundation plants and maintains trees across Milton and the surrounding region, transforming neighbourhoods through urban greening initiatives. The foundation works with residents, schools, and municipal partners to select appropriate tree species, establish community gardens, and restore natural spaces in areas where green coverage is limited. By focusing on tree planting, soil health, and ecosystem restoration, the organization addresses both environmental quality and community well-being in towns across the GTA. Volunteers of all ages participate in planting days and ongoing maintenance, creating opportunities for residents to connect with nature while improving air quality and reducing urban heat. The foundation also provides education about native plants and sustainable landscaping practices to help individuals continue this work on their own properties.
