HAWTHORN SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
Hawthorn School for Girls provides education and support services to girls facing significant barriers to academic success in North York and the Greater Toronto Area. The school serves students who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, involvement with the child welfare system, or other circumstances that have disrupted their schooling. Through small class sizes, trauma-informed teaching practices, and integrated counselling services, Hawthorn helps girls rebuild confidence, develop academic skills, and work toward graduation. The organization recognizes that educational success requires addressing the whole person, offering not only classroom instruction but also mental health support, life skills training, and connections to community resources. Many students arrive having experienced instability or failure in traditional school settings. Hawthorn's approach meets them where they are, creating a safe environment where learning can happen and futures can be reimagined.
