HEARTH PLACE CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE

HEARTH PLACE CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE provides free arts and culture programs to people living with cancer and their families in Oshawa and the surrounding Durham Region. Through visual arts, music, drama, and creative writing workshops, the centre offers emotional outlets and social connection during cancer treatment and recovery. Participants engage in group classes, one-on-one sessions, and community events designed to reduce isolation and stress while celebrating creativity. The centre recognizes that artistic expression can be therapeutic, helping people process difficult emotions and reclaim a sense of normalcy. HEARTH PLACE operates studio spaces where clients of all artistic abilities create without pressure to produce finished work, focusing instead on the healing process itself. Staff and trained volunteers facilitate a welcoming environment where people can connect with others who understand their experience.
