THE MARKHAM INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN SERVICES
The Markham Institute for Human Services provides counseling, crisis support, and social services to vulnerable populations across East York and the Greater Toronto Area. The organization offers mental health programming, substance abuse treatment, family support services, and emergency assistance to individuals facing housing instability, poverty, and personal crises. Through direct clinical care and community outreach, the institute works to address underlying causes of social disadvantage while connecting clients to employment, education, and housing resources. The organization serves low-income families, seniors, immigrants, and people experiencing homelessness with culturally responsive programming designed to meet clients where they are and support long-term stability.
