MEDIAEVAL STUDIES FOUNDATION
The Mediaeval Studies Foundation supports academic research and public education about the Middle Ages through grants, fellowships, and programming. Based in Toronto, the foundation funds scholarly work across history, literature, art, and culture from roughly the 5th to the 15th centuries. It provides financial support to graduate students and established researchers, sponsors conferences and lectures, and maintains a library and archive accessible to students and the general public. The foundation also develops educational materials and exhibitions that bring mediaeval history to communities across the GTA, helping people understand the complexity and relevance of this period to contemporary society. By investing in both rigorous scholarship and accessible public engagement, the foundation advances knowledge of mediaeval civilization and fosters deeper appreciation for this formative era in European and world history.
