OAKVILLE WIND ORCHESTRA
The Oakville Wind Orchestra performs classical and contemporary music for audiences across the Greater Toronto Area, maintaining an ensemble of over 80 musicians who rehearse weekly and present multiple concerts annually. The group stages free or low-cost performances at community venues, schools, and outdoor spaces, making orchestral music accessible to residents regardless of income. Members range from professional musicians to dedicated amateurs, all volunteering their time to keep live wind music alive in Oakville. The orchestra commissions new Canadian works, supports music education through partnerships with local schools, and provides performance opportunities for emerging musicians. Their repertoire spans from traditional classics to modern compositions, creating varied programming that appeals to both longtime classical music fans and newcomers encountering orchestral performance for the first time.
