OAKWOOD CHILDREN'S HOUSE
Oakwood Children's House provides safe housing and support services for children and youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Toronto. The organization offers emergency shelter, transitional housing, and wraparound services including counseling, education support, and life skills training to help young people ages 6 to 24 rebuild stability and independence. Staff work with each resident to address the underlying causes of homelessness while connecting them to employment opportunities, education programs, and mental health resources. Oakwood recognizes that youth homelessness often stems from family crisis, abuse, or poverty, and its approach combines immediate shelter with long-term planning to help young people transition to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
