THE ONTARIO ELECTRIC RAILWAY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION

The Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association preserves and operates heritage electric railway equipment in Milton, maintaining one of Canada's rare collections of vintage streetcars and interurban railway vehicles. The organization runs seasonal excursion trains and a working museum that educates visitors about early 20th-century transit history and the engineering achievements of Ontario's electric railway era. Through hands-on demonstrations, archival research, and restoration work by volunteer enthusiasts, the association keeps these historic transportation systems operational and accessible to the public. The site serves as both a living history museum and educational resource for anyone interested in how railways shaped communities across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.
