Remedy Institute

Remedy Institute provides free legal support and advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS across Toronto and the GTA. The organization connects clients with lawyers and law students who help navigate issues including housing discrimination, employment rights, social assistance appeals, and access to benefits. By removing legal barriers that affect health outcomes, Remedy Institute helps clients secure stable housing, maintain employment, and obtain the resources they need for medical care. The organization serves a vulnerable population often excluded from traditional legal services due to stigma, poverty, or previous negative experiences with institutions. Through direct legal representation and community education, Remedy Institute addresses the structural injustices that prevent people with HIV from achieving economic security and health stability.
