THE RIVERWOOD CONSERVANCY
The Riverwood Conservancy preserves and restores the natural environment while promoting public appreciation of the arts and culture in Mississauga. The organization manages the 97-acre Riverwood estate, which features walking trails, heritage buildings, and gardens open to the community. Through workshops, performances, and educational programs, the Riverwood Conservancy connects visitors with local history, Indigenous heritage, and environmental stewardship. The site serves as a gathering place for artists, educators, and nature enthusiasts throughout the Greater Toronto Area who participate in seasonal events, guided tours, and conservation initiatives. By combining land stewardship with cultural programming, the organization demonstrates how natural spaces can foster creativity and community connection while protecting the region's ecological heritage.
