SICKLE CELL ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO

The Sickle Cell Association of Ontario provides support and advocacy for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease in the GTA. The organization offers educational programs, peer support groups, and community events that help people living with this genetic blood disorder manage their health and connect with others who share their experiences. Through awareness campaigns and clinical partnerships, the association works to increase understanding of sickle cell disease among healthcare providers and the general public. Based in Scarborough, the organization also helps patients navigate the healthcare system, access financial assistance, and participate in clinical research opportunities. The association serves a predominantly Black community that faces significant health disparities and limited access to specialized care.
