Sohrae Youth Orchestra

Sohrae Youth Orchestra provides free orchestral training and performance opportunities for young musicians from low-income families across Toronto. The organization recruits talented students who might otherwise lack access to music education due to financial barriers and offers them instruction in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion alongside ensemble rehearsals. Participants perform in public concerts and collaborate with professional musicians, building both technical skills and confidence. By removing cost as a barrier to musical learning, Sohrae opens doors for youth who might never otherwise experience the discipline and joy of playing in an orchestra. The program serves students of all backgrounds and aims to build a more inclusive Toronto arts community.
