STROKE RECOVERY ASSOCIATION-RICHMOND HILL CHAPTER

The Stroke Recovery Association's Richmond Hill chapter provides art-based programming and peer support for people recovering from stroke across the Greater Toronto Area. The organization offers painting, music, drama, and creative writing classes specifically designed for stroke survivors to rebuild confidence, motor skills, and cognitive function through artistic expression. Trained instructors work with participants at all ability levels, from those with significant mobility limitations to those returning to independent creative pursuits. Beyond classes, the chapter facilitates monthly support groups where stroke survivors and caregivers connect with others navigating similar challenges. The program recognizes that recovery extends beyond physical rehabilitation, using creative practice to address the psychological and social impacts of stroke while helping participants rediscover purpose and joy in their lives.
