TAIBU Community Health Centre

TAIBU Community Health Centre in Scarborough delivers arts and culture programming that supports mental health and wellness across the Greater Toronto Area. Through visual arts, music, performance, and creative writing workshops, TAIBU uses artistic expression as a therapeutic tool for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, and social isolation. The organization recognizes that creative practice can facilitate healing and build community connection in ways that traditional healthcare alone cannot. TAIBU's programs serve diverse populations including Black and racialized communities, youth, and people living with mental illness. By integrating cultural expression with health support, the centre creates spaces where participants can process experiences, develop skills, and strengthen their sense of belonging while addressing the social determinants of health that affect their wellbeing.
