Teen Legal Helpline (TLH)

Teen Legal Helpline provides free legal information and advice to young people across Ontario who face legal questions or challenges. The organization operates a phone and online service staffed by volunteer lawyers and law students who answer calls from teenagers dealing with issues like family law, school discipline, criminal matters, employment rights, and housing. Rather than providing formal legal representation, TLH educates youth about their rights and options, helping them understand the legal system and make informed decisions. The service is confidential and accessible to anyone under 18, regardless of their ability to pay. Based in Whitby and serving the broader GTA and Ontario region, Teen Legal Helpline fills a critical gap by connecting vulnerable young people with accurate legal guidance at a time when they're most in need of support and information.
