UNISON HEALTH AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
UNISON Health and Community Services uses arts and culture as a vehicle for health and social change across Toronto. The organization creates and delivers programs that integrate visual arts, performing arts, and creative expression into community settings, working primarily with people experiencing mental illness, homelessness, and social isolation. Through workshops, performances, exhibitions, and collaborative projects, UNISON helps participants build confidence, develop skills, and strengthen connections within their communities. The charity operates from the understanding that creative engagement improves mental health outcomes and fosters belonging. Programs are offered in shelters, hospitals, community centers, and other public spaces throughout the GTA, reaching people who face significant barriers to accessing traditional arts and mental health services. UNISON's approach recognizes that participating in creative activity can be as valuable as conventional treatment for many individuals navigating complex health and social challenges.
