WOMEN'S MULTICULTURAL RESOURCE AND COUNSELLING CENTRE OF DURHAM
The Women's Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham provides counselling, education, and cultural programming for women and girls in the Pickering and Durham region. The organization serves immigrant and refugee women who face barriers to accessing mainstream services, offering support in multiple languages and culturally informed approaches. Through counselling services, they address trauma, mental health challenges, and settlement issues. The centre also delivers arts and culture programs that celebrate diverse backgrounds while building community connections and social resilience. Recognizing that cultural expression and creative outlets are essential to healing and belonging, their programming includes workshops, performances, and collaborative projects that involve women from various communities across the Greater Toronto Area. The organization operates from a trauma-informed perspective that respects the unique experiences of newcomer and racialized women.
