AFGHAN WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT SERVICES
The Afghan Women's Organization provides settlement and support services to Afghan women, girls, and families who have immigrated or fled to Canada. Based in North York, the organization assists newcomers with language training, employment counseling, housing support, and access to childcare resources. The group also offers programs addressing trauma and mental health challenges experienced by refugees, alongside cultural orientation sessions that help families navigate Canadian systems and institutions. Through peer support networks and community workshops, the organization helps Afghan women build social connections and develop skills for economic independence. The services are delivered with cultural sensitivity and in multiple languages to remove barriers for those new to the GTA.
