AVICARE BIRD REHABILITATION CENTRE
AVICARE Bird Rehabilitation Centre operates a facility in Toronto dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating injured, orphaned, and sick wild birds. The centre provides emergency medical care, surgical treatment, and long-term nursing for birds brought in by the public or animal control agencies. Staff and volunteers assess each bird's condition, provide appropriate rehabilitation, and prepare healthy birds for release back into their natural habitats across the GTA. The facility houses birds in specially designed flight enclosures where they can regain strength and flight capability before returning to the wild. AVICARE also educates the community about bird conservation and proper wildlife handling through public programs and outreach initiatives, helping residents understand how to coexist safely with Toronto's urban bird population.
