CANADIAN CENTRE FOR ABUSE AWARENESS
The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness provides crisis support, counseling, and educational programs for people experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse. Based in Newmarket, the organization operates a 24/7 crisis line, offers individual and group therapy sessions, and delivers prevention training to schools and workplaces across the Greater Toronto Area. Staff and trained volunteers work with survivors to develop safety plans, connect clients with legal resources, and help them rebuild their lives after trauma. The centre also trains professionals in healthcare, law enforcement, and social services to better recognize and respond to abuse. Through public awareness campaigns and community outreach, the organization works to shift attitudes that enable violence and create safer communities for vulnerable populations.
