CHAVERIM OF THE COMMUNITY

Chaverim of the Community operates a food bank and emergency assistance program serving low-income families in Thornhill and the surrounding GTA. The organization provides groceries, holiday food packages, and financial support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, regardless of background or religion. Beyond food distribution, Chaverim offers counseling referrals, utility bill assistance, and connections to other social services. Run primarily by volunteers from the local community, the foundation responds to emergency requests and maintains a confidential support system for people navigating financial hardship. The organization works within a Jewish value system of mutual aid while extending help to anyone in need within the region.
