CORNERSTONE STANDARDS COUNCIL

Cornerstone Standards Council works to establish and maintain food safety and quality standards across charitable food programs in the Greater Toronto Area. The organization develops best practices for food banks, community kitchens, and meal programs, helping them meet health regulations while maximizing their ability to distribute nutritious food to people in need. By providing training, certification, and guidance to staff and volunteers, Cornerstone Standards Council ensures that organizations serving vulnerable populations can operate efficiently and safely. The council also advocates for policies that balance food security with public health requirements, recognizing that effective hunger relief depends on both adequate supply and proper handling. Through this work, the organization strengthens the entire network of food assistance services in the GTA.
