HABITAT FOR HUMANITY GREATER TORONTO AREA

Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area builds and renovates homes for families living in poverty across the GTA. The organization partners with low-income households to create safe, affordable housing through volunteer labor and donations of materials and funds. Families selected for the program contribute their own labor alongside volunteers, and they receive a mortgage at no interest with no profit margin involved. Since beginning operations in the Greater Toronto Area, the charity has constructed and repaired dozens of homes, removing housing as a barrier to stability for working families who would otherwise struggle to afford decent shelter. The organization relies on corporate sponsors, individual donors, and thousands of volunteers to carry out its mission.
