Institute for the Protection of Vulnerable Persons

The Institute for the Protection of Vulnerable Persons provides direct support and advocacy services to adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Operating in North York and across the GTA, the organization works with older adults, people with disabilities, and other at-risk populations through counseling, crisis intervention, legal support, and case management. The Institute conducts safety assessments, helps clients access shelter and emergency resources, and connects individuals with long-term supports. Staff and trained volunteers also work to prevent abuse through education and community outreach, while partnering with healthcare providers, social services, and law enforcement to strengthen protections for vulnerable people in the region.
