Joshua's Tree
Joshua's Tree provides practical support and mentorship to youth aging out of foster care in Mississauga and the GTA. The organization helps young people between 16 and 29 navigate the transition to independence through housing assistance, employment training, educational funding, and ongoing one-on-one mentoring. Staff and volunteers work directly with each participant to develop personalized plans that address immediate needs like finding stable housing and securing employment while building long-term resilience and life skills. Joshua's Tree recognizes that youth in care often lack family networks and financial resources when they leave the system, leaving them vulnerable to homelessness and poverty. By offering both material assistance and consistent relationships, the organization helps these young people establish foundations for self-sufficiency and stability during a critical period of their lives.
