Literacy South Halton

Literacy South Halton provides adult literacy and essential skills training to residents of Burlington and the surrounding communities who struggle with reading, writing, and numeracy. The organization offers one-on-one tutoring, small group classes, and conversation circles taught by trained volunteers, helping adults improve their ability to complete job applications, understand workplace safety materials, manage finances, and engage with their families and communities. Many clients have experienced interrupted schooling, English as a second language barriers, or learning disabilities that prevented them from developing strong literacy skills in their youth. By offering free, confidential instruction tailored to individual learning needs, Literacy South Halton removes barriers to employment and independence while building the confidence of vulnerable adults in the GTA who want to improve their reading and communication abilities.
