LUKE'S PLACE SUPPORT AND RESOURCE CENTRE FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Luke's Place Support and Resource Centre for Women and Children provides emergency shelter, counselling, and practical support to women and children experiencing domestic violence in Oshawa and the surrounding Durham Region. The organization operates a safe house with beds and meals for those fleeing abusive situations, along with crisis support available 24/7 through a helpline. Beyond emergency services, Luke's Place offers individual and group counselling, parenting programs, employment assistance, and help navigating legal and social systems. Staff work with residents to develop safety plans and connect them with longer-term housing and community resources. The centre also runs prevention and education programs in schools and workplaces to build awareness about domestic violence and healthy relationships across the GTA and beyond.
