MALANKARA CATHOLIC MISSION

The Malankara Catholic Mission serves the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Syro-Malabar Catholic community across the Greater Toronto Area. Based in North York, the mission operates as a parish that celebrates the ancient Eastern Christian traditions of the Malankara Church while serving families seeking liturgical worship, sacramental life, and faith formation rooted in the traditions of St. Thomas Christians from Kerala, India. The community gathers for regular Masses in the Syro-Malabar rite, which features its own distinct theological practices, theological heritage, and liturgical customs. Beyond worship services, the mission provides spiritual direction, catechism classes for children and adults, marriage preparation programs, and pastoral counseling. The organization works to preserve and transmit the rich spiritual heritage of the Eastern Catholic tradition while creating a welcoming faith community for members navigating religious life in Canada. Through its activities, the mission addresses both the sacramental and communal dimensions of Catholic Christianity within the multicultural context of the GTA.
