ONTARIO RETT SYNDROME ASSOCIATION

The Ontario Rett Syndrome Association provides support and resources for individuals with Rett syndrome and their families across the GTA and beyond. Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects girls, causing severe developmental challenges after a period of normal growth. The organization offers educational programs, peer support groups, and advocacy services to help families navigate medical care, access therapies, and connect with others facing similar circumstances. Based in Mississauga, the association works to increase awareness of the condition among healthcare providers and the public, while connecting families with practical information about managing daily challenges. Through workshops, newsletters, and direct support, the organization helps reduce isolation and empowers families to advocate for their loved ones' needs within schools and medical systems.
